Before you book
What you actually need to know about Aquatech.
Aquatech Amsterdam is the water sector's global trade fair at RAI Amsterdam, held every two years for process, drinking and wastewater technology — pumps, filtration, treatment and digital water systems, not a general environmental or sustainability show.
Traffic & timing
The show runs Tuesday to Friday with a shorter final day (10:00–16:00 versus 10:00–18:00 the other days) — plan staffing and demo scheduling with that earlier Friday close in mind, and expect the two middle days to carry most of the trade traffic on a four-day format like this.
Key deadlines
Plan backwards from move-in.
Custom stand design approval
Non-shell-scheme stand designs are due to RAI for approval by 31 December 2026 — miss it and you risk being defaulted to shell scheme regardless of what you'd budgeted for.
Multi-storey/gallery permit
Stands with more than one storey, a gallery, or a stage over 60cm need a permit requested at least 8 weeks before the build period starts on 5 March 2027 — so by around 8 January 2027.
Live water/liquid demo approval
Any demo using open, flowing, spraying or nebulising liquids needs RAI's written approval at least 30 days before the build period starts (5 March 2027) — roughly 3 February 2027 — so plan the demo concept early enough to get sign-off.
Watch-outs
RAI Amsterdam, not a generic hall.
Live water demos need written sign-off
Open, flowing, spraying or nebulising liquids on your stand require RAI's written approval in advance — a real risk at a water-technology fair where 'show it working' is often the whole pitch.
75dB(A) noise cap at the stand edge
Pumps, compressors and filtration demos can't exceed 75 decibels measured at your stand's edge — test your loudest equipment against that limit before the show floor, not during it.
Under 18m² means mandatory shell scheme
Below 18m², RAI requires its own shell-scheme construction — there's no self-build option at that size, so factor the €150–€180/m² shell-scheme cost into a small-stand budget from the start.
Fraudulent 'official' directory and hotel offers
Aquatech explicitly warns exhibitors about third parties posing as official partners and selling directory listings, hotel deals or attendee data — verify any unsolicited invoice directly with aquatech@rai.nl before paying.

[PLACEHOLDER] Vaerus Filtration
Getting a live filtration demo signed off before the show floor
Vaerus wanted a working water-filtration demo on their 24m² stand. We designed the flow system and a noise enclosure specifically to clear RAI's written-approval process for liquid demos and stay under the 75dB(A) stand-edge limit, submitting the paperwork well ahead of the 30-day deadline.
Approved on first submission — no redesign needed after RAI's technical review.

A 75dB(A) noise cap and a written-approval requirement for any flowing or spraying water demo — the two restrictions almost every water-tech stand here runs into first.

Frequently asked
Aquatech, answered.
Can we run a live water demo on our stand?
Yes, but only with RAI's written approval for open, flowing, spraying or nebulising liquids — submit your demo concept at least 30 days before the build period starts so there's time to adjust if needed.
Our stand is under 18m² — can we still build something custom?
No — below 18m², RAI requires shell-scheme construction; custom self-build only becomes an option from 18m² upward, and even then your design needs approval by 31 December 2026.
How loud can our equipment be during the show?
Up to 75dB(A) measured at the edge of your stand space — worth testing your actual demo equipment against that limit rather than relying on the spec sheet.
